Day 5
September 10.
Thursday
Early morning looked better but changed quickly to rain and strong winds
Nikolaos to Argostoli on the island of Kefallinia
Checking our wet clothes and strewn gear from the previous night we made the call to set sail early. This decision was also made due to the fact we were in the local ferry docking area after the ‘tempest’ of the previous evening and not sure if it was due to arrive. So off we went about 730 am. Four hours later we arrived at the large town of Argostoli which catered from cruise ships to fishing boats. The four hours were more of the night before with large seas, crashing waves and torrential rain. We had thought when we embarked on this trip it was all glassy seas. Another few sessions of sea sickness was had. I finally fell asleep in the heavy rain and crashing seas on deck for an hour finally awaking as we approached Argostoli and calmer waters and the sun appearing. There are what appears to be large turtles bobbing about where we are anchored.
Tying up at Argostoli at last.
