Europe 2016, Friday 7th

What a wonderful day yesterday.

Visited Chateau La  Rochepot, a medieval castle and it’s amazing surroundings nearby Beaune in the Burgundy region.  It was amazing and enjoyable trying to work out what was the original purposes of all the walls, openings and structures. It seemed a lot of conservation work was in progress ( by volunteers ?) with great  stonework restorations and also some plots of vegetation being fenced off for natural growth to occur.

In the evening we all a had a special meal at a beautiful  French restaurant named The Bistrot du Bord de l’Eau in the village of Levernois. Spectacular food, wine and conversation was enjoyed with our friends in a wonderful place and the terrific staff and owner of the restaurant ( who recalled his visit to the Yarra Valley at home).

Below are a mix of pictures of the Chateau, the restaurant and also several  shots of Chris and Ernie’s house where we have had the pleasure of staying for the last few days.
