Thursday 13th September
As I said yesterday we found accommodation in Nasbinals last night and decided this morning to stay another day to explore this great village, catch up on the washing and have a rest. We also thought rain was forecast for today so another reason to stay put – as it turned out though it has been a perfect sunny 22 degree day.
This morning we visited the amazing church which has UNESCO listing due to its long history as part of the Camino de Santiago. We were able to get our pilgrim passports stamped at the local tourism office this afternoon in the village. This place has as many tourists as pilgrims with lots of bikes ( with electric motors), motor bikes and camper vans driving through all the time. Coffee is very cheap. I have taken to expresso coffee to look more European. I like it but it’s all over in one mouthful.
Tomorrow we are making a jump forward by bus to Conques to start 3 more walking stages to Figeac taking us very close to the half way point of Cahors where we will be reunited with our cases after 2 weeks.
Thanks Ian. I’m enjoying reading about your adventure. Keep it up. It look like you’re having a fantastic time. Doug
