Monday September 17th
Well we spent our granddaughters 10th birthday in Le Puy having a great day wandering around the cobbled streets checking out the shops, buildings and cafes as you do. Not much open as it was Monday and it seems most shops and cafes have this off after working over the weekend.
We bought some souvenirs and a new suit case to help with our ongoing travels.
Also purchased our train tickets for tomorrow to Beaune via Lyon. It’s great getting the discounts due to our old ages.
Found it very difficult to find a place to eat tonight and ended up in what we thought was take away pizza place but it turned out to be a great little Italian restaurant although I still had a pizza with limoncello and Cath had lasagna and water. A lovely meal ( I love Italian food).
Our accommodation here was central but very dated and we had to climb 3 flights of stairs each time we went in and out. See the open window 3rd floor in the pictures (our room).
Cath made a friend in the square of a female pilgrim but she didn’t talk much. See the picture.
Off to a Beaune tomorrow.
