Cath and Ian’s travels 2018

Sunday 23rd September

Woke up to more rain but the promise it would clear by middle of the day which it did. Rest of day was nice and sunny.

We had massive breakfast and took off around 9am travelling first to Mouse hole which was a picture perfect fishing village. Managed to find a car park after negotiating a series of 8 feet wide laneways in and out of the little cottages. Got some great pictures below. We then drove along the coast and discovered Sennen Cove with a wide sandy beach and several surfers in the water. They also had lifesavers and the safety flags to swim between. Then after more driving along narrow lanes and avoiding a huge tractor on a bend we arrived at St Just and had a Cornish pasty from the oldest bakery we were told in Cornwall. Just out of town was Cape Cornwell which is cared for by the National Trust. We donated 1 pound to the very enthusiastic volunteer and took some great pictures. The large outcrop and nearby island reminded me of The Nobbies on Phillip Island.

Back to our hotel in Camborne for the Sunday carvery and a Guinness.
