Wednesday September 26th
After breakfast at our new favourite inn we took to the road on the way to Weston Super Mare and but followed a sign to go to Cheddar Gorge not far down the road.
This was a pretty special place with high rocky cliffs in all directions, caves as well as lots of souvenir shops, cheese and tea rooms.
We had a Somerset Cream tea before continuing our travels to Bristol. A big city but we managed to drive through the centre and see it’s harbour and river.
Made a few wrong turns but ended up in Tetbury ( my early childhood home) around 2pm. Did some wandering around the old village and visited my Granparents grave in the church yard of Tetburys wonderful old church. Then had lunch in a very trendy cafe before heading through to Cotswold lanes to Stroud where we wstaying with cousins Jai and Mike.
Had evening meal with Aunty Greta, Uncle Glyn and his friend Jo, Jai and Mike at the Hunters Hall before heading home to bed around 11 pm.
Off to Barry tomorrow to Barry in Wales (the home of Gavin and Stacey):
