Cath and Ian’s travels 2018

Tuesday 2nd October

A long day of driving today.

We left Barmouth in Wales around 930am and headed for Hazel Grove, Stockport in Manchester.

We were meeting up with friends Sheila and Gary and their family for dinner this evening.

We drove all morning through the lanes, A and B roads before hitting the motorway close to the English border. Had a Costa coffee break in one of the big services on the motorway and eventually arrived at our accommodation in Sale and booked in at 2pm.

After a short rest we took off for our dinner date which was supposed to be 20 minutes away according to the sat nav in the car but got caught in the Manchester traffic and the trip extended to an hour.

Anyway, we had great visit and enjoyed some home cooking of hot pot and crumble. A nice change from our normal evening pub meals.

Off to Keswick and the Lake District tomorrow for a few days.

Just don’t get lost in Keswick. Sounds like you’re having a fantastic time. I feel like a voyeur on your travels.
