Tuesday 9th October
Left our lodging around 930am and drove to Beverley at the recommendation of last nights landlord. She described it as a little York and much quieter.
We arrived after 40 minutes and it was great to just park in the town square with no issues. The town was like she said and we enjoyed our morning coffee there and wandering around the streets and shops for an hour or so. I found a Vodafone shop so was able to sort out another SIM card for the iPad that would work on mainland Europe over next couple of weeks.
Back on road and drove to the outskirts of Cambridge to a lovely little village called Fen Drayton where we had booked a bed and breakfast. Had dinner in the local pub and walked back to our accommodation for bed about 10 am. Managed to wash all our undies here and get them dried on the central heating as well, so that was a bonus.
We are reviewing our final weeks now as only 4 weeks to go before we come home.
It is proving expensive and difficult to travel to either Scotland or Ireland after coming back from Europe so are considering travelling from Prague into Germany and across to Brussells before our final days in London. Will confirm this when we finally make up our mind.
Off to London tomorrow to drop off hire car and then back to Paris by train on Thursday followed by flight to Poland on Saturday. It’s all go over here.
Bit of a bland day covering around 140 miles, so no pictures sorry.
